Chapter Profile
The Piedmont Triad Chapter is a chartered local chapter of the International Facility Management Association, an organization of over 17,000 facility professionals in 54 Countries. The chapter meets the second Thursday of each month for a lunch program, a social activity or an evening facility tour. Since its founding in 1992, the chapter has supplemented the services provided by IFMA national by offering professional growth though networking, guest speakers, sharing best practices, and the newsletter.
Our chapter has 75 members. Sixty percent are facility professionals; the remainder is consultants, contractors, manufacturer representatives, dealers, or distributors of facility related products and services.

There are typically 40 attendees at the chapter monthly meetings. Our mailing list includes over 350 facilities professionals and vendors throughout the Piedmont Triad area.

We are proud to have 11 Certified Facility Managers (CFM’s) in our Chapter - 22% of our professional membership!
The make-up of our chapter is diverse, encompassing corporate office, research and development, health care, and education, just to name a few. Statistics include:
Facilities professionals in our chapter are responsible for over 22 million square feet in 1,000 buildings.
General office space comprises the largest segment at 8 million square feet, followed by manufacturing space at more than 3 million, laboratory space at 1.5 million and medical at 500,000 square feet.
IFMA is a member-centered association that exists to guide
and develop facility management professionals. In support of its members,
IFMA promotes the Facility Management profession by providing leadership,
recognition and standards of excellence.
